Phases of the Design Process: Programming, Schematic, Design Development

 

This was a partner project based on a potential renovation of an existing building on the University of Michigan's campus. The first floor was designed by my partner and included a cafe, retail shop, a real estate office, and a convenience store.  ​

I designed the second floor, which included 4 separate Airbnbs designed based on natural elements/biomes. These elements included 2 desert-themed suites, a singular 3-bedroom forest-themed suite, and a singular 1-bedroom water-themed suite. Each suite included a special amenity that matched its theme, such as saunas, a jacuzzi tub, or a fireplace. The second floor also included a large central lobby that connected the various functions of the building. ​
